Then fair, mild (10-13), but with showers, mild (14-16). Tropical storm looms (17-19), with fair, quite warm period (20-22), then more showers, storms (23-24), with rain, windy (25-28), the month ending fair, mild (30-31).
Tornado watch: Heavy weather expected on the horizon 17-19.
Full Moon: September’s full moon rises on the 25th at 6:51 a.m. E.D.T. and is this year’s harvest moon.
Special notes: Since the Autumnal Equinox occurs on the 23rd at 7:31 a.m. E.D.T. when the sun enters the House of Libra, this determines the Harvest Moon since it occurs closest to the Equinox.
Holidays: Labor Day on Sept. 6: Rosh Hashanah on Saturday, the 11th, and Yom Kippur on Monday, the 20th.
The garden: Though we don’t foresee a killing frost until on or about Oct. 14 it’s always wise to be prepared to protect tender plants in the event there’s an earlier one. It’s almost time to clean up and ready the garden for the coming fall and winter months.
