also anticipates receiving approximately $70,000 in interest on the bond.
The School Board is proposing that $109,000 in lottery funds from 1998-99 and $137,000 in end-of-year money returned to the Board of Supervisors be appropriated to the schools to make up the shortfall, in addition to the appropriation for the roof.
Jackson District Supervisor Ron Frazier questioned how' the bond could be so far off. He noted that approximately $500,000 of the bond was set aside for the ball fields, and the remaining 2.5 million was for the addition. Frazier added that the money set aside for the addition ended up being about $900,000 lower than what is needed.
Dr. Tole pointed out that the three million figure was only an estimate. Representatives from Hayes Large Architects pointed out that the building “got a little larger” and that inflation, due partly to materials being in short supply, also contributed to the rise in costs.
