Stella McFarland Burke, 81, of Culpeper died on Friday, Aug. 27 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1917 in Rappahannock County.
She was a retired custodian for Culpeper County School System.
Her parents were the late Eloyd Fox and Nellie McFarland Fox.
Her husband was the late Woodrow Wilson Burke.
Survivors include two sons, William LeRoy Hawkins Sr. of Culpeper and Ernest B. Hawkins Jr. of King George; one daughter Sarah Ruth Roland of Japan; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Charles E. Fox of Culpeper and Carl M. Fox of Fredericksburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
