Sophomore Michael Fairbrother finished his oneman quest for a medal Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the single "A" High School State Golf Tournament. His final day score of 89, shot over the tough Lonesome Pine Course at Big Stone Gap, dropped him out of medal contention. The day before on Monday, Michael had shot a 78 and was close to the top, six shots behind the leader and tied for fifth with five other golfers.
