Roosevelt Ray Jackson of Sperryville was honored on Saturday afternoon with a surprise celebration at the Rappahannock County Courthouse for his 30 years of service to the Rappahannock Sheriff's Office and the Rappahannock community. Lt. Jackson was hired 30 years ago, Oct. 15, 1970 by former Sheriff Charles K. Estes. In addition to Mr. Estes, former Sheriffs, W.A. Buntin and Gary Settle were on hand to express their gratitude and thanks to Mr. Jackson, as well as current Sheriff, Larry Sherertz.
