Washington Town Councilmen Steve Critzer and Charlie Tompkins returned to the October Council meeting after having walked out over disagreements with the Council’s handling of wastewater issues. Though no one can blame them for strong reactions to actions that some might consider capricious and ill-advised, the abandonment of their responsibilities had left their constituents and their positions on the issue without voice. While such walk-outs and Council instability may make good press, a well-represented Council makes much better government. Glad you’re back.
