If you decide to do the shoe box following are some things you will need to know. Decide if your gift is for a boy or girl and then select and age group (2-4, 5-9, 10-14). Fill the shoe box with gifts, small toys (small cars, yo-yos, slinkys), school supplies, hygiene (toothbrushes, tooth paste, soap, comb, brush, washcloth), and other items like hard candy, toy jewelry, caps, hair clips, books.
Please do not use any used items, toy guns, knives, medicines, liquid items (shampoo, lotions) or breakable or perishable items. Next wrap your box (lid separate from the bottom); then mark the box for a boy or a girl and place a $5 check (to help cover shipping) payable to Samaritan’s Purse, which is tax deductible, in the box.
Put a rubber band around your box and drop it off at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church or contact one of the above people to pick it up by Nov. 15. We then will take the shoe boxes to one of the collection centers for Operation Christmas Child.
Reynolds Memorial Church has prepared approximately 50 boxes over the years to help the operation.
