Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville has been participating in Operation Christmas Child for three years. It is an exciting program that each year brings the joy and true meaning of Christmas to millions of children all around the world.
What is Operation Christmas Child? The concept is a simple one. It is when individuals, families, churches, bu sinesses, and any other groups of people fill shoe boxes with small gifts and send them to collection centers operated by Samaritan's Purse, which is the Christian relief and evangelism organization. They then process and deliver these boxes all over the world to children who are devastated by war, poverty, disease and disaster.
The goal that Operation Christmas Child has this year is 45 different languages. A shoe box has been packed every year by a United States President since Ronald Re.' ^an.
