Organist to perform

The Performing Arts Committee of the Front Royal Presbyterian Church is pleased to offer its fifth series that begins with an organ concert by Thomas Strauss, organist at the St. John Baptist Catholic Church in Oppenau, Germany. Strauss conducted the Bach-Choir Ortenau in a concert here in October 1998.

Strauss studied church music at the State Academy of Music in Freiburg and completed studies towards the highest degree available in Germany, the "A-Exam." He founded the Bach Consortium Thomas Strauss and appears frequently with Wolfgang Bauer, solo trumpeter with the radio symphony orchestra in Frankfurt.

His numerous radio recordings, CDs and live transmissions in Germany and the United States illustrate his extensive ability. Strauss has given concerts in Germany, France,
