There is always a certain amount of fudging
in political campaigns, but to believe the campaign literature of George Allen that he is a great supporter of good education is too much fudge to swallow.
Have we forgotten that remarkable uprising by some of Virginia’s leading businessmen in protest against George Allen's attempts to cut the budgets of our state's universities and colleges? And what great educational purpose did Allen have for doing this? Why, he was looking for money to build more and bigger prisons. And he did build them. So many, in fact, that we are now importing felons from other states to fill them up.
