Annual Bland
contest planned
Now is the time tor all young musicians to tune up their instruments and vocalize their voices. The Rappahannock Lions Club has sponsored annual Bland Music contests for many years as part of a statewide program dedicated to encouraging student skills and to provide a showcase for their unique talents. This year’s competition is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 at The Theatre in Washington. Student musicians are eligible to participate if they reside in Rappahannock or are attending school in the county. For more information contact Lion David Gillis at 987-8096.
Sound of Music
to be presented
The Windmore Foundation and the Culpeper Chapter National League of Junior Cotillions will present The Sound of Music on Saturday, March 10 on stage in the forum at Culpeper Middle School. The evening will include a pre-performance reception from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. CotiHton members receive free admission with a paid adult ticket. Cal 547-2555 for reserved tickets.
