At Tuesday’s night school board meeting, Superintendent William Bloomer attached dollar and cent estimates to his earlier recommendations for expansion at the county high school and arrived at a rough cost projection of $1.3 million for construction of five classrooms and support facilities.
With baseball season just around winter’s last icy comer, plans for the formation of the Skyline Junior Babe Ruth League should warm local players and fans alike. Rappahannock has joined with Madison and Greene counties to establish a league for youngsters 13 to 15 years old. This Skyline Junior Babe Ruth League will operate under a six-member board of directors with Rappahannock represented by Guy Foster and Irvin Kenyon.
The Rappahannock Branch of the NAACP is sponsoring a black history contest open to all high school students. The aim of the contest is to create an interest in the achievements and contributions of black Americans.
