“You can imagine what it is like to have a tractor-trailer bearing down on you when you are in a farm vehicle going 15 mphCoyner said, adding that trucks have damaged his land.
“I have woken up in the morning and seen a tractor trailer in my cornfield. I didn’t want them there. And I wasn’t paid any damages for the harm done to my cornfield.”
Delegate Jay Katzen, who represents all of Rappahannock County and most of Fauquier County, opposed the bill, saying that closing U.S. 17 to trucks will lead to increased traffic in Rappahannock.
