optimum hunting pace, the fast time division is just that — the fastest pair wins. This division is restricted to riders 16 and over. The fast time division can prove to be an ideal stepping stone to actual racing, as well as old-fashioned point-to-point events.
Old-fashioned races, like the paces, are run over natural hunting country and are usually about three miles, but unlike the paces, riders are free to choose their own courses as long as certain mandatory points are passed.
