Festival: William Pape's Flatterer finished a close second in the open Champion Hurdle in 1982.
Trained at Zohar and Lisa Ben-Dov's Kinross Farm in Middleburg by native Englishman Neil Morris, the gray 4-year-old is one of a record 123 entries for the world's juvenile hurdle championship. As many as 30 runners may start the two-mile race.
The 31 Irish-trained and five French-trained entries are also records; there is also is a challenger from Germany.
Kinross homebred Segregation Lane, also a winner over nine furlongs on the dirt, won three of his four lifetime hurdle starts last term at Virginia Fall, Great Meadow and Camden. His only loss was when he slipped and fell while leading at Montpelier last November.
Morris has trained in the U.S. for eight years. Kinross' regular jockey Matt McCarron will be in the saddle at Cheltenham.
