With the release of a new CD and two free downloads of their most popular songs (“Let the Party Rock” and “Rude Rock Family”) on their Internet site, the fresh and electrifying music of Rappahannock’s own “Rude Rock Family” band is being heard and appreciated in countries around the world.
Rude Rock Family bills the group as a band that offers dancehall to dance club, punk rock to electro-funk, and reggae to country western. This lively group of young musicians from Sperryville hopes to set the world on fire— musically speaking. Their website (www.ruderockfamily.com) describes the group as “a time traveling band back from the future to save the planet- from eminent musical doom.” Their fans say their music provides “the beat of a tribe and the rhymes of a madman.”
The band has been recording for about a year and a half. Commenting on the release of their new recording “Hi-Fi Super Sessions, Volume 1” as an EP (for extended play vs. regular long play CDs), Noah Wuggner, the lead singer, points out: “It is a brave new world for music. The days of paying thousands of dollars to a major label to promote music are disappearing in the world of digital music and the Internet.”
