Child Find to be conducted

Rappahannock County Public Schools will conduct Child Find screenings on Friday, June 10 at Rappahannock County Elementary School. This event will correspond with DARE Field Day activities. Early childhood speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy specialists will be available for free screening under consultations.

Seminar on insects

An intensive seminar on working with beneficial insects and their needs so they can do their job: eat up the naughty bugs! We will look at and identify beneficials and other insects and the extensive range of plants that attract beneficials to feed and shelter. Other ecological aspects that affect insects will be discussed, too.

This class is based on Donna La Pre’s many years of working to understand natural balance and her fascination with the relationship between plants and insects.

Building insectary plantings and habitat for better balance is not only effective, but beautiful. Come and learn how on Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The cost of $30 includes written material and an insectary perennial. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register call 675-2365 or e-mail dopray@earthlink.net.
