They met jointly and for the fourth time in a public forum.
The Town of Washington Planning Commission together with the Washington Town Council met on Monday, May 23, to discuss how they will craft changes to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan particularly as it looks to adding sewer service.
Consultants Milt Herd from Herd Planning and Design in Leesburg along with Vlad Gavrilovic from Paradigm Design in Reston have been incorporating and refining feedback from the previous meetings.
Herd pinpointed the evening’s objectives.
“There are some key concerns,” said Herd. “You’ve got the property owner expectations of receiving town sewer service as well as the potential impact on property owners of significant reductions in the development capacity in the rural residential district.”
Given the established town boundaries, Herd presented a series of options.
One would provide sewer service to a defined area mostly hovering close to currently established buildings while leaving the outer perimeter
