The board of the

Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society wants publicly to acknowledgi the leadership of Ben Atkins and his enormous contributions to the continued success of our county’s Relay for Life.

Ben has captained a team for many years but, more importantly, began his county wide leadership six years ago when he co-chaired the event with Ester Settle. He was th< sole chair for the next five years. This year he was assisted by Tamara Waldo, who will take on the leadership role next year. Under Ben’s leadership, Rappahannock County has raised more than $350,000 to aid in the fight against cancel This year Relay for Life tean alone raised almost $60,000, i remarkable achievement for £ county our size.
