Spanish Interpreter

The Loudoun County Sheriffs Office is seeking qualified applicants for the Spanish Interpreter position. Major job duties include: respond to scenes involving Spanish speaking victims, witnesses, and suspects in criminal, civil and accident cases and conduct interviews and obtain statements; translate and prepare written correspondence and press releases, testify in court when necessary; work with deputies to establish effective communication with the -various Hispanic support groups and media outlets to communicate the role and mission of the Sheriffs Office; identify problems within the Hispanic community and assist deputies in resolving identified issues. Combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma and 6 years job related experience. Valid appropriate driver's license required. Spanish/English bi lingual requirement During interview process, candidates will be required to demonstrate both oral and written fluency in Spanish and English. Position is on-call 24/7. Successful candidate will undergo a background investigation, driving record check, criminal record check, and polygraph examination. (Hiring Range: $33,661 - $56,550/yr) Ref # 05-414.
