of “What makes Rappahannock a good place to grow old?” comments were varied. One group stated it was, “a feeling of comradely, compassion and concern among citizens.” Other responses included, “the area is safe,” “this is a county that encourages creativity,” “there is strong volunteer support,” and “people tend to stay in Rappahannock for a long time.”
The groups also came up with several sets of challenges the area faces. One was transportation and the difficulty of accessing pharmacies, hospitals, or even going grocery shopping. One idea was to institute a county bus system.
