George Edward Woodard III, 28, of Sperryville was charged with failure to maintain control/reckless driving on Monday, May 23 following a single vehicle accident at 4 a.m. on Harris Hollow Road when his 1988 Ford Ranger exceeded the maximum safe speed of 20 mph, striking an embankment and overturning into the Rush River.
Estimated damage to the vehicle was $4,000, according to Trooper Corbett of the Virginia State Police who responded to the call. The accident is under investigation.
