Washington’s generous “Dinner for Two” raised over $1,000 in a special 52-card raffle, and many of the ever-popular class baskets such as chocolate/pet supplies/family movie night/game night were put in the silent auction so the crowd could fully scrutinize their contents and bid appropriately.
The third grade students each offered hand-made jewelry, and the fourth graders created hand-dyed silk scarves.
Musical entertainment during the reception was provided by John Kovac and his ensemble, and guests ergoyed a variety of wines from Old House Vineyards of Culpeper, while sampling an array of tasty hot appetizers, cheeses, and fruit.
When the silent bidding closed at 7:30 p.m., guests moved to the Leonard M. Cowherd Auditorium for the dinner and live auction.
