might have been related to the Crime Solvers reward of $2,000 posted for the signs’ return.

By week’s end, all signs had been returned to their rightful - and grateful - owners.

Although some of the signs were somewhat “weathered” from being out in an open field for so long, the owners were still pleased to have them back. Phil Irwin of Caledonia Farm was most appreciative because his sign — a large and handsome gilded lettered sign made by famed cabinetmaker Peter Kramer — was a landmark in the county.

One recovered sign remains a mystery, however, and is unclaimed. It is a simple wood sign with the name “Two Creek Farm.” If anyone knows of a property by that name, please call the Sheriff's Office at (540) 675-5300.
