Marvin had been granted a $10,000 bond by Judge Jeffrey Parker in a May 4 hearing. He would have been required by the terms of the bond to live in a downtown Warrenton building he is renovating for his employer, who had agreed to pay the $10,000 bond. However, after hearing explicit testimony from prosecution witnesses about alleged acts of child molestation by Marvin, his employer, a Fauquier businessman, withdrew the offer and Judge Parker revoked Marvin’s bond.
Marvin is charged with aggravated sexual battery to a victim under age 13 and taking indecent liberties with a minor, and was indicted before the grand jury on Monday. He was arrested by the RCSO after a woman heard the alleged victim describing what sounded like incidents of sexual abuse, and informed Social Services.
Prior to Marvin’s May 4 bond hearing, his employer, who has known Marvin for several months, had agreed to help him post bond after “praying on it for a long time.”
However, during the May 4 hearing, prosecuting Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke called witnesses that gave explicit testimony accusing Marvin of repeated sex crimes against children. Lt. Connie Smith of the RCSO, who originally arrested Marvin, told the court that the alleged victim had claimed that Marvin took baths with her during which he had made her wash his “private area.” According to Smith, the child also indicated that he had fondled her genital region, and that it felt “like a bee sting.”
Another alleged victim also testified before the court, telling the court that aboqt 11 years ago, when she was 10, she had been forced by Marvin to fondle his genitals. She
