Loudoun County. Virginia, the fastest growing county in the Washington DC Metro area and one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, is seeking a dynamic and innovative professional to head the new Office of Capital Construction. The Director will lead a new organizational office created to manage the County's multi-million dollar capital project program. The Director will provide leadership and direction to professional project management and technical staff with a goal of delivering all projects on time and within budget; provide professional advice and counsel to the County Administrator regarding capital project planning and construction; supervise land acquisition for facility needs; liaison with the Loudoun County Public Schools Capital Project Division and represent the County's interests regionally and locally. Loudoun County's current population of 257,706 is expected to reach 312.802 by 2010. Loudoun County 's Adopted FY 2007 - 2012 Capital Improvement Program includes $639.5 million in general government capital projects. The position is appointed by and reports to the County Administrator. Starting salary in the low 100's depending upon qualifications. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture. Construction Management or a related field with 10+ years related experience of a complex nature in the project management/design/construction field which must include 5 years of experience in a senior leadership capacity managing major capital projects and supervising professional level staff. Experience may be substituted for education. The successful candidate will be a decisive professional with a solid record of accomplishments in senior level positions in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field with the ability to build a successful organization that delivers capital projects on time and within budget in a very dynamic and high growth environment. Successful candidate required to reside in Loudoun County within six months of hire. Appointment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, credit and DMV check.
