Richard Murray, 75 of Cedartown,' GA, died on. Wednesday, March 15.
Mr. Murray was bom on Aug. 10, 1930 in Raleigh, NC.
He grew up and was well known in the Scrabble area.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Patent & Trade Agency as a patent examiner.
Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his parents, Hoke and Cleta Bullock Murray; two brothers, Harry and Joseph Murray; his daughter, Barbara Lynn Murray, and a granddaughter, Janet Murray.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia B. Murray of Cedartown, GA; four sons, James Gregory Murray and Hoke Murray, both of California; Richard Murray, Jr. of Virginia and Walt Murray of Cedartown; and two daughters Karen Clemens and Samantha Taubenberger, both of Virginia.
Additional survivors include a step-son, Jason Kennedy of Texas; two brothers, William. Murray of Macon and John Murray of Cartersville; 10 grand children, one greatgrandchild, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held March 25 at the Friendship Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery with full military honors conducted by the BrewsterCleveland Post 86 Honor Guard.
