Master of Ceremonies Tom Shafran kept things moving throughout the evening, and the live auction quickly heated up.
There was some friendly competition among the parents during the “Head of School for a Day” offering, and when it came time for auctioning off of the hand-painted ceramic punch bowl and cups created by the Kindergarten, the good-natured vying between the class parents and Kindergarten teacher Kathy Nilan (who eventually emerged the winner) brought laughter and cheers from the crowd.
At the end of the evening, Head of School Kathleen Grove expressed appreciation to the organizing and close-out committee members for all their hard work, thanked the many parents and donors for their generosity, and the community for coming out and being so supportive of this important fund raising event for Wakefield Country Day School.
