The Rappahannock County Board of Education this week heard about the vacancies for the ‘06-’07 school year.
Nearly a score of teaching and coaching positions are to be filled. Interviewing is going on now. (See Box)
School Superintendent Dr. Robert Chappell also told the Board that “there is now a process” for attempting to connect local employers with high school students who are seeking part-time work and with those about to be graduated who are looking for a full-time job. Potential employers are encouraged to advertise for employees by contacting Jason Gochenour, the Guidance Director at the High School.
Keeping it green
Board members also heard about mowing the lawns. The grass on the athletic fields. Dr. Chappell sought new bids for mowing, and got four of them for regular trimming of all the fields except the football field. “We’ll have to work on that” separately, he said.
