Ralph Pace, an RCHS alum soccer player visiting from college, told Lisa and Tom Pendleton that Tommy is better than any college goalie that he’s played with so fr. Tommy has a notable academic background as well with his AP, Honor and Dual college credit classes that he has taken at Lord Fairfax Community College. He has gained acceptance into the National Honor Society this year. He is well liked by his peers and his teachers. Tommy showcased Dr. Seuss in his Senior Literature report to his class wearing a Cat in the Hat hat that he designed out of duct tape. Tommy developed an animation for his math teacher’s Master thesis that will be used in a national program to help other math teachers instruct students about this difficult math concept. * His college plans are to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia to pursue a career in computer animation and game design. This college is found to be one of the most respectable colleges in animation as it was written about in Newsweek Magazine recently.
He has worked at the Inn at Little Washington all year during his weekends and all last summer with very few days to himself to earn money for college. Tommy’s dream will incur him college loans, but it will be worth the effort to accomplish his aspiration. Tommy is a credit to his parents, his teachers, his coach, and his community. You would have to search far and wide to find a more worthy candidate.
