Second place team was Ester Settle’s Faith Warriors with the amount of $10, 071.98. Team captain Tamara Settle. Ester was the overall top individual fundraiser with $5, 307. In June of 1990,1 was operated on for colon cancer. Ester visited me in the hospital bringing along with her our grandson Lee. About two weeks later Ester underwent surgery for cancer. We now share a grandson and two great-grandchildren. Ester’s granddaughter Kelsa did a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace at the Survivors ceremony at the relay. As most of you know, this team also has been, and is still, being touched by cancer. Thank you Ester for being such an inspiration to so many cancer patients these past 16 years.

Third place team was Carolyn’s Love, Laugh and Live with $8,725. Team captain Carolyn Leake. This team takes pride in having a member on the track walking throughout the night of the relay. There are cancer survivors on my team and team members who have lost family
