The Reverend Robert DeMartino, Pastor of St. Peter’s Parish in Little Washington, led the invocation, followed by the singing of the “Star Spangled Banner.” Kathleen Grove, head of the school, welcomed the students, families and guests by reflecting proudly on the leadership and guidance that the senior class had displayed over the past year.
Following the awards ceremony, students received awards of recognition for academic excellence, athletics, art, citizenship, mathematics, science, and writing—among many others.
The commencement address was given by Ambassador Marc Ginsberg, a noted Middle East expert, who offered the class of 2006 his best advice: “take an improbable journey, not a predictable trip” as you go out in the world.
