This position will perform technical assignments in the Department of Community Development's Engineering Office. Duties include hydrologic, hydraulic, and technical review of development and construction plans; enforcement of applicable programs, codes, and ordinances; and inspection of active project sites. This position provides technical assistance to internal and external clientele and coordinates directly with government officials and other agencies. Qualified applicants should have a BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or closely related fields, supplemented by four years previous experience and/or training that includes civil engineering, land development, water resource management and erosion/sedimentation control. Applicant must possess ability to obtain Virginia Professional Engineering (P.E.) license. The starting salary range is $60,527.32 - $78,691.57.

Senior Planner

This position is within the Division of Zoning, Permitting & Inspections. Position manages review of site plan or other land development applications, coordinating with applicants, review agencies and the public. Other key responsibilities include: reviews land applications for conformance with zoning ordinance requirements, special permit and special exception conditions, and zoning proffers; prepares and presents staff analysis and reports to public bodies; provides technical assistance regarding the zoning ordinance to citizens, property owners, developers, design professionals, boards and commissions and other agencies: and attends, coordinates, participates and makes presentations at various committee and board meetings. Seek an individual with zoning experience. Minimum requirements include a B.A./B.S. degree in Planning or related field. The starting salary range is $52,292.86-$67,974.66.

Engineering/Environmental Planner

This position will perform Engineering and Project Management services for the Department of Community Development s Engineering Office. Responsibilities include active participation in the Development Bond Program, the Erosion and Sediment Control Program, the Street Acceptance Program, and the Stormwater Management Program. These programs require coordinating and conducting field construction inspections, assisting with the technical review ot land development applications, and providing technical support and guidance to clients. Qualified applicants should possess a B.S. in the Engineering, Construction, or Environmental related fields supplemented by two years previous experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience with major focus in civil engineering, construction management, or environmental sciences whjch provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia's driver s license. VA DCR E&S Certification is a plus. The starting salary range is $52,292.86 to $67,974.66.

Planner I

This position in the Planning Division will be responsible for professional planning work primarily focused in land development, including: technical review for subdivision and development applications; coordination with applicants and referral agencies; assisting and responding to citizen, property owner, developer, design firm, board/commission and

1ues^ons regarding the land development process. Communication and writing skills are important since this position will have extensive contact with and provide technical assistance to the general public, elected and appointed officials. Qualified applicants must possess bachelor s degree in one of the following areas: urban planning, economics, landscape architecture. The starting salary range is $43,028.80-$55,925.74.

Administrative Associate

This new position supports the Department's Assistant Director and is part of a team responsible for processing all land development cases. Principal tasks focus on preparing, maintaining and retrieving files; scheduling meetings; preparing meeting minutes and correspondence; general word and data processing; and greeting and assisting the public. Experience with spreadsheets, database entry and report preparation important.Qualified applicants must have high school diploma or equivalency, supplemented by relevant coursework, and considerable administrative experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail needed. Starting salary range is $27,14,7.59-$32,695.77. M
