Among his proudest accomplishments, this past year, Dorian joined the ranks of a select group of Boy Scouts (only about 4% of the total membership) who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. In order to do so, he had to fulfill specific requirements in the areas of leadership, service and outdoor skills, earning earned over 21 merit badges, in areas such as first Aid, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Environmental Science, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, Camping, and Family Life. One of his better-known projects the planning, design and creation by his local scout troop of the beautiful “Flint Hill" signs that grace the north and south entrances to the town. In school sports, Dorian has given his all — playing varsity basketball, varsity soccer, varsity lacrosse and, this year, he managed the boys’ middle school soccer team. Dorian’s academic awards and honors include receiving a bronze medal on the Medusa Mythology exam, earning a “Cum Laude” certificate on the National Latin exam, and a gold modal for scoring in the 96+ percentile on the National Mythology exam. He also managed perfect attendance in 9th, 10th, and 11th gradqs and in 10th grade, he received the “Most Improved Student” award.
Dorian’s quiet demeanor and dry wit, coupled with his immense curiosity and creativity, make for an extremely interesting and promising young man.
