The Relay for Life teams of
Rappahannock Co. deserve a standing ovation.Our staff has undergone change after change in the last two years. This year there were new community managers, new teams and new team captains. Everyone should take pride in bringing all these changes together as a relay family and for the monies raised by such a small group of dedicated people. Money was raised from baked sales, dinners, raffles, appeal letters and numerous fundraisers. We need to thank our surrounding neighbors in Warren, Culpeper, Warrenton and counties beyond for their support in our efforts to raise money as well as the people here in Rappahannock county. This year the three top teams raised over $30,000. First place went to Melvin’s Crusaders, in the amount of $12,995. Team captain was Ellen Timbers. Special mention goes to Gail and Frances Timbers who raised more than $5,000 each. This team consist of many family members who have been touched deeply by cancer.
