A repeat'of last year’s dilemma led officials from Rappahannock High School to split thesaliitatorian honor for the second year in a row. The honor went to Bethany Dodson and AnnAshleigh Lamma. -
“It was really close,” said ' • Lamma, “Right down to the 5th or 6th digit after the dec* imal point.” She was still somewhat surprised at the results, “I was actually a little behind right before finals,” she admitted. Just before graduation, however, she eras asked to start writing her speech.
A champion of school spirit, Lamma joined the cheerleader team and also played on the softball team. She received the Neil Burke Memorial Award for her efforts.
She was voted by her classmates as “Most Dramatic” and also “Most Likely to Brighten Your Day.”
Lamma is attending Christopher Newport University this fall and plans to major in biology for a (future career in forensics. “Forensics has always interested me,” she said. “It’s amazing what one small hair or piece of material can do to help solve mysteries.”
Lamma plans on spending the summer working at 4-H camps and earning money for college.
