He agreed that the Class of 2006, helped the school achieve greatness, citing the high school band as one of their greatest achievements. “For three years in a row we’ve received top honors for our band. I believe that members of this class had something to do with that.” *
Following the honored graduates speeches, several members of the class, including its valedictorian, rejoined the band for a parting performance of “Exaltation” by James Swearington.
The band also performed the opening march “Pomp and Circumstance” for the ceremony as well as the concluding piece, “Commencement Classics,” arranged by James Ployhar.
