All the while, Dorian has maintained at 3.5 average, and his senior schedule has included AP Literature, English, Calculus, Physics, Computer Technology and Yearbook. Described by his college advisor Marsha Dowell as having academically challenged himself throughout high school, Dorian has managed to, “maintain steady focus on his goal of becoming a mechanical engineer, while continually striving to deepen his understanding of advanced material.”
Dorian’s scholastic interests include both science and politics, and he recently completed his thesis in Modern European History, choosing to study the impact on the Chernobyl disaster on the Soviet Union. According to his history teacher Doug Weaver, "Dorian’s detailed research proposal, which balanced political discussion with an understanding of the human toll of the tragedy, demonstrated true thoughtfulness.” The intellect and commitment Dorian is known for in the classroom also serve him well in non-academic roles. Outside the classroom, Dorian is very active both in extracurricular activities and in the Rappahannock community. As senior prefect, he worked closely with other student government representatives for the betterment of the entire student body. Dorian is a also a gifted artist and designer. His donations to Wakefield Country Day School include an ornate podium carved for one of his English teachers,
