Charles Roosevelt Presgraves, Sr., 69, died June 1, at his home in Sperryville.
Mr. Presgraves was born August 17, 1936 in Rappahannock County, son of the late Israel and Leila Burke Presgraves.
He was a lifelong resident of Rappahannock County and spent most of his years in Flint Hill, Virginia.
He was a retired painting contractor.
He was an outdoor enthusiast and truly enjoyed gardening, bird watching, fishing, and hunting.
He will always be remembered as a very loving devoted father, grandfather, and friend.
Mr. Presgraves is survived by his daughter Teresa Lynn Jones and her husband John of Stephens City; one son Charles R. “Chuck” Presgraves, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Sperryville.
Additional survivors include two sisters Jean Dodson of Fairfax and Katherine Blouch of Pennsylvania; one brother Claude Brown Presgraves of Jessup, MD; two granddaughters Karen Jones and Kristen Jones of Stephens City; and one grandson Branden Jones of Stephens City.
He was preceded in death by a sister Elsie Mae Partlowe and a brother George Presgraves.
A graveside service was held Saturday, June 3, at Flint Hill Cemetery in Rappahannock County, with Elder Bill Jenkins officiating.
