As most of us get ready to baste the Butterball or inject our bird with marinade for a hot, deep fry, let’s take a moment to pause and think about the turkey. Joyce Wharton’s 4th grade class did. In fact, they wrote some persuasive essays from the turkey’s point of view. They also read their essays aloud to their classmates. The essays were judged by fifth grade writing teacher Molly Bailey for format, style, voice and mechanics. According to Bailey, “these stories were a hoot and I truly enjoyed reading them.” We suspect that you will too. Enjoy!
