The winter sports parent meeting will be held Monday, November 20 at 7p.m. at RCHS. We encourage all parents who will have children participating in winter sports to attend the meeting. Day School
Wakefield Country Day School (WCDS) varsity, junior varsity and middle school athletes gathered with their parents and friends for the 2006 WCDS Fall Athletic Awards Ceremony. WCDS Athletic Director Mike Kenney organized the event to highlight, and reward the efforts of the young men and women who were involved in sports at Wakefield this fall. The teams recognized throughout the evening were boys’ varsity and middle school soccer, girls’ varsity, junior varsity and middle school volleyball, and crosscountry and, of that group, nine students from Rappahannock County were singled out for special recognition.
This year, a record 28 students went out for the boys’ varsity soccer team this season, and two members of the girls’ varsity volleyball team were singled out by the Delaney Athletic Conference (DAC) for their performance on the court. Katherine Russo, a junior from Flint Hill, was named First-Team All Conference performer in the DAC, placing in the top 7 of over 100 conference players, and her teammate Emma Clark of Huntly was awarded Honorable Mention, having
92.5%
