Parking lot paved

The parking lot for the new auxiliary gymnasium has been paved, even though the School Board initially deleted that part of the project to save money. Chappell said the money for the project came from interest gained on a loan from the Virginia Public Schools Association.

The last-minute decision to pave the parking lot was based on reports that the parking lot grade was sloped toward the gym and would create a mud quagmire during heavy rains. Chappell said pavement would be iso be better for snow removal and would cause less gravel and debris to be tracked into the gym.
