There are some things that I will never understand, no matter how hard I tiy to be objective and unemotional about it. For instance, why would someone move to a house on the ocean, when he hated sand, salt spray and the roar of the surf?
I’m not going to mention any names or particulars, but last week I read a rather articulate piece in the paper, about a fellow who didn’t have cell phone service, and was out “felling” trees on his property, and one of these trees hit him in the head and broke his jaw.
Now, I very much regret that he was injured. I wish that pain and suffering on no man or beast. He was able to get in a vehicle and get back to the house, where he endured some significant pain for some period of time. I don’t know why. Why didn’t he pick up the telephone and call 911? One of our good volunteers would have been there in a veiy few minutes to help him or transport him to a medical facility.
