After several years with the health department, he worked as a purchasing agent with Old Virginia, Inc.; a jelly-apple-preserve manufacturing company located in Front Royal, which was originally founded by Mr. DeBergh’s grandfather in 1907. In 1983, he founded his own company, Harris Hollow Foods, a fruit brokering company located on Mount Salem Avenue, and continues to work there today.
Mr. DeBergh is the sixth generation of Ids family to live in Rappahannock County and has resided, with his wife Beth, in his family’s home place since 1974. Beth, a former elementary school teacher in both Warren and Rappahannock Counties, currently works with her husband at Harris Hollow Foods; is a member of the Warren County Garden Club
