School board member Rosa Crocker mentioned that she had been approached by county citizens about the Rappahannock Public Schools actively seeking tuition-paying students from neighboring counties. She said some people saw that as a way to raise funds for the high school.
Chappell cautioned against an active campaign to recruit students from surrounding counties, saying it would likely offend other districts.
