He also spoke about how individuals in the modem age are more informed. “The Internet opens the door to the outside world like never before,” he said.
Griffiths speculated that individuals can now explore anything they want to know more about in detail. “Everybody has their own perspective on reality and I don’t try to change that,” he said, “I try to match up each person with the right kind of information so they can make an informed choice, based on what they are looking for out of life.”
Griffiths listed several aspects offered by the Guard from ideals of patriotism, honor and service to personal needs such as stability, money, education, and adventure.
As a member of the Guard, Griffiths has no regrets, as he looks back at his military career. “It was the best decision I ever made,” he said. “The Guard has been the only stable thing throughout my life.”
Currently away at basic training is a recent Rappahannock County High School graduate, Brittany Lee, daughter of Hampton District Board of Supervisor, S. Bryant Lee of Washington.
