“I was looking for something quieter and Washing- OPEN: The Hair Gallery is open ton offers that,” said Nelson, and ready to receive customers, who has lived in Rappahannock County for nine years. “I absolutely love this town.”
Nelson says business has been “wonderful” so far, and has been welcomed by other town businesses and residents.
The Hair Gallery joins American Image Salon and the Beauty Box Beauty Shop in the Washington area, but Nelson says there is no rivalry between the salons.
“We cover many bases for the clientele of the county,” she said.
Stepping inside The Hair Gallery is pleasant as there is plenty of light coming in through the windows and the furnishings are inviting. As for the walls, Nelson has something special in mind.
“I understand that this used to be a barber shop at one time,” said Nelson who is hoping to find some old prints.
Td much rather have framed old prints and historic images,” smiled Nelson who is happy to have set up shop in Washington.
Nelson said she is renting one of the chairs in the salon to another hair stylist for one day a week, and has availability to rent a chair to at least one more person. She is also looking to rent a table to a manicurist.
