were uppermost in everyone’s memory for the lavish buffet prepared for the attendees. Beverly Sullivan and Clare Turner were cited for their success in organizing a large and popular silent auction. Kay Miller had a special eye for arranging the donated items on stage for the live auction, and Col. Doc Mitchell was thanked for his special skills in auctioning the items donated.
Of course, there were big ticket donations such as dinner for two at the Inn at Little Washington, a stay at the award-winning Middleton Inn as well as a package at the new Gay Street Inn, dinners prepared for parties by Griffin Tavern and the Flint Hill Public House, and two nights at the Hollands’ unique guest cottage high on the Blue Ridge at Chester Gap, complete with breakfast and wine and cheese.
