Megan Wheatley introduced her father, Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Wheatley, a combat-decorated Iraq War Veteran, as the keynote speaker for the ceremony. After briefly describing his career in the Air Force, Wheatley said that the veterans of America’s armed forces should always be honored for their personal loss and sacrifices made for the sake of freedom both here and abroad. “It doesn’t matter if you are for or against this current war,” he said, “everyone should support the troops and they deserve your thanks.”
