With the proposed school budget cutting summer school transportation to save money, we’ll be looking for creative ways to make sure all children who want to attend a Summer Workshop can get there. Starfish
Charlene James- Duguid is giving private acting classes to several mentees who have expressed interest, with the goal of presenting a performance piece at the annual spring Starfish Picnic event. The students who have been involved really enjoy Charlene’s enthusiasm for the dramatic arts. The Starfish Executive committee has expanded and now includes Sandra Antony, a Headwaters Board member and owner of Long Mountain Nursery, and Maureen Blackwell, retired life coach from IBM. Maureen presented a brief training at a recent Starfish Roundtable, “Listening with the Ears and Heart”

The Rappahannock Garden Club had a wonderful time visiting the new garden at RCES last week. They had a number of great suggestions to improve the garden design, including how to minimize impact on nearby classrooms by putting the classroom area in the center
